John Joseph Xavier Eddy

John Eddy, age 65, of Decorah, Iowa, died on Saturday, January 14, 2012, at his home in Decorah, Iowa. Memorial services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, January 18, 2012, at the Schluter – Balik Funeral Home, 604 South Avenue in Decorah, Iowa, with Rev. David Byrd presiding. John Joseph Xavier Eddy was born on January 15, 1946, the son of Leroy and Ruth McGinnis in Sioux City, IA. John attended school in Boone, Iowa. He was united in marriage to Inez Hall on November 9, 1968 in Boone, Iowa, together they had three children: Mershell, Brad and Paige. John worked for a Temporary Agency at Roadmaster in Delavan, WI and in a factory making computer and vacuum cleaner parts in Elk Horn, WI. John was forced to quit work, due to complications of arthritis. In December 2002, they moved to Decorah. John enjoyed watching TV, movies and “Dallas”. John is survived by his wife: Inez Eddy, Decorah, IA. One son: Brad Eddy, Decorah, IA. Two daughters: Mershell (fiance, Willie) Eddy, Decorah, IA, and Paige (Israel Jos) Eddy, Decorah, IA. Three grandsons: Isaiah Jos, Kerry Owens, Jr. and Jamarr Eddy. Two granddaughters: Katherine Day and Miracle Kenney. One great granddaughter: Desire Brooks. His mother-in-law: Ruby Hall, Beloit, WI. One brother: Michael (Judy) Frist, Boone, IA. Two sisters: Mershell and Joan, along with several nieces, nephews and friends. John was preceded in death by his parents: Leroy and Ruth McGinnis. His father-in-law: Harry Hall 1993. His best friend: Paul Chambers in 2011.
