Jean Mccauley

     Jean McCauley, age 69, of Decorah, IA, died on Monday, August 25, 2014, at Aase Haugen Nursing Home in Decorah, IA, after a seven year battle with cancer.       Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m., Thursday, August 28, 2014, at St. Benedict Catholic Church, 307 West Main Street, Decorah, IA, with Rev. Phillip Gibbs presiding. Burial will be at St. Bridget’s Catholic Cemetery, Bluffton, Iowa.       Friends may call from 3:00-7:00 p.m., on Wednesday, August 27, 2014, at the Schluter-Balik Funeral Home in Decorah, and also after 9:30 a.m., on Thursday morning at the funeral home.       Jean is survived by her husband: Lester McCauley, Decorah, IA. Three children: Kevin (Julie) McCauley, Center Point, IA; Steve (Cathy) McCauley, Algona, IA; and Michelle (Steve) Knudtson, Whitehall, WI. Nine grandchildren: Mason, Mitchell and Madison McCauley; Kelsie, Maggie, Michael and Molly McCauley; and Dylan and Samuel Hess. One great granddaughter: Jacie McCauley. Brother: Keith (Mary) Garrett, La Crescent, MN. Three sisters: Lyn (Ron) Lysne, Decorah, IA; Joanne (Tom) Hovey, Decorah, IA; Joyce Garrett, Reno, NV. One sister-in-law: LaVonne (Alvin) Darling, Burr Oak, IA, along with several nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews.
