Jane Miculinich, age 41, of Decorah, IA, died on Tuesday, July 18, 2017, at the Veterans Memorial Hospital in Waukon, IA. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, July 22, 2017 at the Decorah Lutheran Church, 309 Winnebago Street, Decorah, IA, with Rev. Dave Sorenson presiding. Burial will be at Phelps Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 4:00 – 7:00 p.m., Friday, July 21, 2017, at the Schluter – Balik Funeral Home, 604 South Avenue, Decorah and also after 10:00 a.m., at the church on Saturday morning. In Lieu of flowers the family will be setting up a scholarship at Decorah High School in memory of Jane. Jane Ann (Staff) Miculinich was born on August 28, 1975, the daughter of Curtis and Janet (Torkelson) Staff in Prairie du Chien, Wisconsin. She was baptized on June 20, 1976 at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Monona, Iowa and later confirmed there in October of 1991. Jane graduated from MFL MarMac Community Schools in 1994. After graduation, she moved to Colorado for a short time. She moved back and began working at Moores IGA in Monona. Jane met Michael Miculinich while working at Moores and they were later married on August 27, 2006 at the Big Canoe Lutheran Church north of Decorah. Jane worked for Pinnacle Financial in Decorah from 2004 until 2014. In 2014, she and Michael purchased the Brownberry bread distribution business. She delivered to all of the local grocers around the area up until she began treatments a year ago. Jane enjoyed camping, going to the river with her friends and canoeing and kayaking, bowling, playing cards and trap shooting. Her greatest love was spending time with her children and family. She was a member of Decorah Lutheran Church. Jane is survived by her husband: Michael Miculinich, Decorah, IA. Four children: Christopher, Bailey, Morgan and Brayden. Parents: Curtis and Janet Staff, Monona, IA. Brothers: Michael (Jen) Staff, Corpus Christi, TX; Mark Staff, Cleveland, OH. Father and Mother-in-law: James and Teresa Miculinich, Oelwein, IA. Brother-in-law: Matt (friend, Megin Miller) Miculinich, Oelwein, IA. Sister-in-law: Mindy (Roger) Meirck, Cedar Falls, IA. Cousin: Lee (Melissa) Ball, Monona, IA, who Jane was the Godmother of their daughter Kensy. Her Aunt and Godmother: Mary Ball. Aunt: Bev Torkelson, Monona, IA. Uncle and Aunt: Kenny (Linda) Staff, Monona, IA. Jane was preceded in death by her grandparents: Walter (Barbara) Torkelson and Alton (Lila) Staff. Uncle: David Torkelson.
