James Virgil Reckward

James Reckward, age 65, of Decorah, IA, died Wednesday, March 30, 2011, at the Methodist Hospital in Rochester, MN. Memorial services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, April 2, 2011, at the Glenwood Lutheran Church, with Rev. Doug Mathison presiding. Burial will be in the Glenwood East Cemetery, Decorah, IA. Friends may call on Friday, from 3:00-6:00 p.m. on Friday at the Schluter Balik Funeral Home in Decorah, IA. Jim’s survivors include his wife: Judy Reckward, Decorah, IA. Four sons: Chad Reckward, Decorah, IA; Brad (Jennifer) Reckward, Sterling, IL; Dennis (Mandy) Reckward, Rochester, MN; and Darin Reckward, Decorah, IA. Three grandchildren: Hayden, Macy & Ani Reckward. Jim’s parents: Virgil and Esther Reckward, Castalia, IA. Three sisters: Pat (Jerry) Monroe, Castalia, IA; Susan (Dale) Lenth, Castalia, IA; and Ginny (Roger) Sanford, IA, Decorah, IA. One brother: Jerry (Julie) Reckward, Castalia, IA. Two sisters-in-law: Geneva (Richard) Nelson, Decorah, IA, and Bernita Holthaus, Humboldt, IA, along with many nieces and nephews. Jim was preceded in death by his grandparents: Herman & Mabel Reckward and Olavus & Sandora Holm. His father and mother-in-law: Elmer and Inez Klepper.
