James S. Bradley

James S. Bradley, age 55, of Decorah, Iowa died Friday, December 24, 2010 at home in Decorah. A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 1:00 P.M. Wednesday, December 29, 2010 at Fjelstul Funeral Home in Decorah with Rev. Marion Pruitt-Jefferson officiating. Visitation will be on Wednesday beginning at 11:00 A.M. at Fjelstul Funeral Home, two hours before the service. James Scott Bradley was born May 25, 1955 in Decorah, Iowa, the son of Elton R. and Kathreen B. (Gunderson) Bradley. He graduated from Decorah High School with the Class of 1974 and attended the University of Iowa. Jim started working at Bradley Auto Sales in 1976 with his father and grandfather. He was united in marriage with Mary A. Koehler on July 8, 1978 at First United Methodist Church in Decorah. This union was blessed with one son, Justin. Jim later joined in partnership with his father in the car dealership. They sold the dealership to Weis Buick in 2000, at which point he started working at Weis Buick. Jim enjoyed swimming and tubing, gardening, picnics in the park, walking, and spending time with his friends and family. He was a music enthusiast and especially loved Rock ‘n’ Roll. Jim believed that work should be fun…..do what you love and love what you do. He was preceded in death by his mother, Katy, on January 22, 2005; one niece, Heidi Strien; and his mother-in-law, Dorothy Koehler in 2003. Jim is survived by his wife, Mary of Decorah; one son, Justin Bradley of Decorah; one granddaughter, Layla Jefferson; his father, Elton Bradley of Decorah; two sisters: Kathryn (David) Lee of Columbia, MD and Janice Larson of Kansas City, MO; and ten nieces and nephews.
