Although his death was a tragic accident, JD left this earth doing what he loved the most, taking care of his beautiful homestead, in which he resided for 49 years.

JD was born April 29, 1941 in Raritan, IL to Doren and Maxine Bricker. Growing up in Henderson County, he helped his parents on their Centennial farm planting crops and raising livestock. He was active in high school playing football, basketball, track, and played the bass drum for the National FFA Band. He also was asked to be the catcher for the town's Fast pitch Softball team. JD enjoyed sky diving on the weekends and racing his 57 Pontiac. After graduating from Media- West Highschool, he attended Western Illinois University, upon receiving his Bachelor of Science degree, he moved to Iowa. JD and his previous wife Sharon shared four kids together. He enjoyed teaching his kids to hunt, fish, and garden and instilled in them the true meaning of an honest day’s work. He enjoyed the outdoors and had a deep love for all of his pets.

JD had a successful career for over 25 years, with Ciba-Geigy in Ag Marketing and Sales. Prior to his retirement, he married the love of his life and best friend, Ann on July 23, 1994. They wintered in Mesa, Arizona for 20 years where they truly enjoyed the warm weather and new fellowship of friends. JD was encouraged by Ann to teach a Bible Class that became one of JD's passions in “life." The three most important things to JD was God, which he always put first, His wife Ann who he loved immensely and his continued Sobriety for over 45 years.

JD's final words as he wrote them, "I know that I have been blessed by God and anointed by "The Holy Spirit". I look forward to seeing you in heaven and "teaching discipline" to those that GOD will allow me to during the 1,000-year period, just as he has taught me through my Mom and Dad, Grandmother, Aunt Gladys’ and Linelle.  Be happy that I am in a better place and I am looking forward to seeing you all."

JD was preceded in death by his parents Doren & Maxine, Sister, Patsy Brown.

JD is survived by his wife Ann; Children Tammy (AL) Myers, John Bricker, Darin Bricker, Krista Bricker. Five-Step Children. Christi, Mark, Scott, Leanne, and Mike. Six Grandchildren: Adam, Taylor, Tyler, Chelsey, Amber and Madison. Step- Grandchildren and many Great Grandchildren.
