Isaac Borseth, age 22, of Decorah, Iowa, passed away suddenly from a ruptured aorta on Friday, July 24, 2026, at his residence in Decorah, Iowa.

Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, July 31, 2026, at St. Bridget Catholic Church Dining Hall, 3094 253rd Ave, Ridgeway, IA 52165, with Pastor Bob Hibbing presiding. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

Visitation will be held from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, July 30, 2026, at Helms Funeral Home, 306 E. Water Street, Decorah, Iowa 52101. Visitation will also be held from 10:00 to 10:45 a.m. on Friday, July 31, 2026, at the church Dining Hall.

Isaac was the 5th child of Tim and Kristen Borseth born on September 3, 2003. He was born in Ames IA and was pursuing his GED after finishing 11th grade at the Borseth Academy homeschool.

Isaac was a man of many passions and interests. He collected Star Wars lego figures, swords of all kinds, and anything anime. His favorite anime were Sword Art Online, Tokyo Ghoul, and Naruto. In fact, Isaac's Naruto Shippuden hat got his dad and a gamer friend free entry into Independence Hall when an anime-lovin' tour guide spotted it!

Isaac also loved a wide range of movies from old war classics like The Great Escape to superhero action shows like The Flash.

Of all his varied interests, none were as enjoyable to him as gaming. He played Halo like a boss and was exceptional at Overwatch, but the game he was most passionate about was Helldivers II. He would even pull his family into it... including his own dad!

Lest you think Isaac was only the indoor type, he also absolutely loved canoeing, camping, campfires, hiking and the like. One of his favorite things to do was catch crawdads and minnows during his canoeing adventures.

Isaac also knew how to work. He carried two part-time jobs: one at Mabes Pizza and one at GamesXP. He eventually took over the demanding Amazon delivery job and worked it like a pro.

Isaac also loved his family very much! He was always present and fully engaged in all family gatherings and vacations. His favorite vacations involved camping (imagine that), such as the trip to Yellowstone and, most recently, Jellystone. His fun, easy-going personality made him a treasure to be around.

He leaves behind 5 siblings who loved him so very much: Rex & his wife Jackie and their 3 kids (Noel, Gideon, and Annabelle), Nina, Wayne, Savana & her husband Cyrek Nelson and their 2 kids (Rikka and Eden), and Ariana & her fiancé, Brock Christensen.

He also leaves behind 2 grandmothers, Valerie Borseth and Mary Brice, and 22 aunts and uncles and many wonderful cousins.

Preceding him in death are 2 grandfathers, Lyle Borseth and Rex Brice.

In and over and through all these things, Isaac held onto a quiet and sincere love for God and country. He placed his faith and trust in Jesus Christ when he was 7 years old and was baptized several months later. He was involved in LifeHouse Church and participated in their many exploits, such as the Nordic Fest parade.

Isaac took Jesus seriously when he said, "I am the resurrection and the life. Anyone who believes in me will live, even after dying. Everyone who lives in me and believes in me will never die. Do you believe this...?" (John 11:25-26)

Isaac did and it was his deepest desire that his family and friends would as well. That way we would all get to see Isaac again in Paradise.
