Inez Dolley

Inez Dolley, age 87, of Decorah, IA, died on Sunday, October 21, 2018.Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Friday, October 26, 2018, at the First United Methodist Church, 302 West Broadway, Decorah, IA with Rev. Hyeunmee Kang and Rev. Jim Dale officiating. Burial will be in the Freeport Cemetery in Decorah, Iowa.Visitation will be from 4:00-8:00 p.m. on Thursday, October 25, 2018, at the Schluter – Balik Funeral Home, 604 South Avenue in Decorah, and also after 10:00 a.m. at the church on Friday. Inez Marie (Cocker) Dolley was born on April 28, 1931 on the family farm near Pilot Mound, Minnesota, the second daughter of Rex and Esther (Rain) Cocker. She graduated from Chatfield, Minnesota the class of 1950. Inez attended Luther College to earn her teaching degree. She taught in a one room school house in the Winneshiek, Howard and Allamakee counties. Inez was united in marriage with Cloyd Dolley on December 18, 1955 at the First United Methodist Church in Decorah. This union was blessed with one daughter: Barbara and two sons: Virgil and Jed. Inez became a housewife, farm wife and raised their children. Inez and Cloyd were blessed with only one grandson, Samuel. They attended many of his school and church activities. They love Samuel dearly. Inez is survived by her husband of 63 years: Cloyd. Daughter: Barbara (Doug) Johnson, Decorah, IA. Sons: Virgil (Amy) Dolley, Marion, IA and Jed (Shelly) Dolley, Decorah, IA. Grandson: Samuel Johnson, Decorah, IA. Nieces: Jean Lembke, Salisbury, NC and Lynn (Larry) Ingvalson, Decorah, IA. Great nephew: Kent (Hanna) Ingvalson. Great niece: Kayla Ingvalson.Inez was preceded in death by her parents: Rex and Esther (Rain) Cocker. Sister: Shirley (Kenneth) Ringdahl.
