Horace Seegmiller, age 86, of Decorah, Iowa, died on Sunday, January 12, 2014, at the Aase Hauge Nursing Home in Decorah, IA. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Friday, January 17, 2014, at the First United Methodist Church, 302 West Broadway, Decorah, IA, with Rev. John Caldwell presiding. Burial will be in the Phelps Cemetery, Decorah, IA. Friends may call from 4:00-7:00 p.m., on Thursday, January 16, 2014, at the Schluter – Balik Funeral Home, 604 South Avenue, Decorah, IA, and also after 10:00 a.m., at the church on Friday morning. Horace is survived by his wife: Dorothy Seegmiller, Decorah, IA. Three sons: Rodney (Sue Baker) Seegmiller, Ridgeway, IA; Mark (Joan) Seegmiller, Postville, IA; and Daryl Seegmiller, Decorah, IA. One daughter: Donna (Paul) Farley, Decorah, IA. Grandchildren: David (Amanda) Seegmiller, Julie (Chad) Jaster, Cole Baker, Brad (Brandy Nobles) Seegmiller, Brooke Seegmiller, Brittany (Hector) Vivero, Clint (Kristina Ryan) Seegmiller, Shannon (Brandon) Hartley, Joel (Ashley) Farley, Jason (Stephanie) Farley, and Jeremy Farley. Great grandchildren: Olivia Seegmiller, Brady & Paige Jaster, Deonte, Liland & Aliza Seegmiller, Yosalin & Hector Vivero, Jr., Dominic Seegmiller, Kaeley & Evynne Downing, Gage & Clara Hartley, Adalyn & Easton Farley, and Haidyn & Carson Farley. One sister-in-law: Gertrude Seegmiller, Rochester, MN. Brothers and sisters-in-law: Wayne (Margaret) Seegmiller, Queen City, MO; Ruth (Bob) Kerns, Sun City West, AZ; Fern (Jon) Schmid, Sun City West, AZ, along with many nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephew and cousins. Horace was preceded in death by his parents: Will and Louise (Spilde) Seegmiller. Two grandsons: Brian Seegmiller and Kyle Baker. One daughter-in-law: Shelly Seegmiller. One sister: Evelyn (Willet) Sampson. Three brothers: Jesse (Florence) Seegmiller, Floyd Seegmiller and Telford (Evelyn) Seegmiller. One brother-in-law: Orval (Pam) Seegmiller, Jr.
