Helen Bangs

Helen B. Bangs, age 102, of Decorah, IA, died Wednesday evening, November 1, 2017 at Aase Haugen Senior Services in Decorah.    Funeral Services will be at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, November 8, 2017 at Aase Haugen Senior Services with Rev. Richard Simon Hanson officiating. Burial will be in Lutheran Cemetery in Decorah.   Helen Blanche Bangs was born September 3, 1915 in Decorah, Iowa, the only child of Arthur and Anna (Oyloe) Bangs. She attended the rural Blount School and then Decorah High School for two years. Helen worked at Ben Franklin, Hunt’s Variety Store and then Coast to Coast for many years. She was a member of First Lutheran Church. Helen became a resident of Aase Haugen Senior Services in Decorah in April 2012. She was preceded in death by her parents. Helen is survived by her cousin, Jan Arneson of Loveland, Colorado.
