Heather A. Kimber, age 20, of Waukon, Iowa, and formerly of Decorah, Iowa, died Wednesday, December 10, 2008 at Gundersen Lutheran Medical Center in LaCrosse, WI as a result of injuries suffered in a motor vehicle accident on Sunday afternoon, November 30, 2008 on Highway 9 east of Churchtown in Allamakee County. Memorial Services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Saturday December 13, 2008 at First Lutheran Church in Decorah by Rev. Lynn G. Groe. Visitation is from 4:00 – 8:00 P.M. Friday, December 12 at Fjelstul Funeral Home in Decorah and an hour prior to the services on Saturday at the church. Heather Ann Kimber was born August 29, 1988, in Decorah, Iowa, the daughter of Jeffrey and Debra (McCormick) Kimber. She was baptized by Rev. Lynn Groe of St. John’s Lutheran Church in Waukon, Iowa. She attended Decorah High School and Rockefeller School at Northeast Iowa Community College in Calmar, IA. Heather worked at Subway, McDonald’s and Wal-Mart. She enjoyed being with her friends and her family. She loved animals and listening to music, cooking, baking, being outdoors and she has ridden a horse. Heather was preceded in death by her two grandfathers: John Kimber, Jr. on April 26, 2000 and Jerry McCormick on September 7, 1992; and one uncle, Terry McCormick. Heather is survived by her mother, Debra McCormick (fiancé Dean Patterson) of Cresco, IA; her father, Jeff (Judy) Kimber of Waukon, IA; her brother, Jeff Kimber, Jr. of Cresco, IA; two step-sisters: Angela Thornton of Waterloo, IA and Alexis Patterson of Calmar, IA; two step-brothers: Cody Heying and Chase Heying of Ossian, IA; two grandmothers, Helen McCormick of Mission, TX and Vivian Kimber of Decorah, IA; and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.
