Gloria "Mona" Quinn

Gloria Ramona “Mona” Fischer Quinn Mona Fischer Quinn passed away July 2, 2022, at Grancare Nursing Center, Green Bay, WI, with her daughter by her side. Mona, daughter of William Paul Fischer and Emma (Christiansen) Fischer. was born, in Decorah, Iowa, on November 19, 1930. Graduating from Decorah High School in 1948, she attended the University of Iowa for two years. Mona married James L. Quinn March 31, 1950, in Iowa City, Iowa. Together they had four children. Throughout her career, Mona held positions as Financial Manager for various organizations. She returned to college, and in 1978, earned her bachelor’s degree, cum laude, from University of Wisconsin, Green Bay. Mona was an accomplished bridge player. She also loved her Decorah water aerobics group. Her other interests included many hours of reading, singing folk songs and, in her earlier years, gardening, scuba diving, playing piano and always cheering on her Green Bay Packers. Mona was a longtime Unitarian and a member of the Unitarian Universalist Fellowship in Decorah, Iowa. Forever the optimist, during the morning of her final day, Mona sang, “Open Up Your Heart and Let the Sun Shine In!” Momma/Mona is survived by her children, Gary (Laura) Quinn, Green Bay, WI, Terri (Robert Poulton) Quinn, Sturgeon Bay, WI, Shawn (Nancy) Quinn, Wauwatosa, WI, and Patrick (Ruza) Quinn, Cedarburg, WI, grandchildren, Ian (Laura) Smith, Cedar Falls, IA, Kelly Smith, Denver, CO, Alina Quinn, Madison, WI, her two nieces and two nephews. Mona was preceded in death by her parents, her sisters, Nadine Knowlton, Sylvia Aschim, brother, Carleton Fischer, and niece, Barbara Knowlton Gustavson.
