Gary L. Lechtenberg

Gary Lechtenberg, age 66, of Fort Atkinson, IA, died of natural causes on Sunday, December 5, 2021 at his home. Mass of Christian burial will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, December 11, 2021 at Our Lady of Seven Dolors Catholic Church, 2351 County Road B32 in Festina, IA with Rev. Robert Gross presiding. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Visitation will from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service at the church on Saturday. Gary Lee Lechtenberg born on March 19, 1955 the son of Norbert and Flavia (Boyer) Lechtenberg in West Union, IA. He graduated from South Winneshiek High School in 1973. After graduation, Gary continued to work on the family farm. In 1998, Gary started his job with Lynch Company and was employed at the Spillville Mill in Spillville, IA. Gary was a gentle soul with a heart of gold. A jokester he was! You knew he was in a room by his laugh. He cared deeply about his siblings and his co-workers and everyone he came to know. Rest in peace Gary. Gary is survived by his sisters: Margaret (Arlin) Pahl, Decorah, IA; Patricia Frana, Decorah, IA; Barbara (Allan) Shatek, Fort Atkinson, IA; Jane (Marvin Krivachek) Lechtenberg, Fort Atkinson, IA; Mary (Shanon Benson) Hoyme, Decorah, IA. Brother: Norbert Lechtenberg Jr., Fort Atkinson, IA along with many nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews. Uncle: Dennis Boyer, St. Lucas, IA. Aunt: Arlene Boyer, St. Lucas, IA. He was preceded in death by his parents: Norbert and Flavia (Boyer) Lechtenberg. Brother: Mike Lechtenberg.
