Frances Nelson

Frances Nelson, age 96, of Decorah, passed away on Tuesday, August 15, 2023, at Touchmark at Mount Bachelor Village, in Bend, Oregon, surrounded by her family. A graveside service will be performed at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, October 28, 2023, at the Decorah Lutheran Cemetery, 326 Pershing Avenue, with the Rev. Ron Barth presiding. Frances graduated from Decorah High School in 1943, attended Luther College, and graduated from Kahler School of Nursing in Rochester, Minnesota, in 1949. In November of 1949, Frances married Joseph Nelson at St. John’s Lutheran Church at Locust. She worked as a nurse and later was vice president of Engineered Products Company, the company she and her husband founded in 1978 in Waterloo, Iowa. She retired in 1992. Frances is survived by her daughter, Lori King, son-in-law, Peter King, and two grandsons, Tom and Hunter King.
