Florence "Faye" Brandt

Florence “Faye” Brandt, age 78, of Ridgeway, IA, died on Sunday, December 16, 2018 at her home in Ridgeway, IA. Visitation will be from 4:00-7:00 p.m. on Thursday, December 20, 2018 at the Schluter-Balik Funeral Home, 604 South Ave in Decorah, IA, followed by a funeral service at 7:00 p.m., with Rev. Jeff Hansen presiding. Burial will be at a later date. Florence Faye Brandt was born on November 26, 1940 the daughter of Robert and Florence (Lawrence) Eppens in Calmar, IA. She was baptized in April, 1942 in Calmar. Faye graduated from Calmar High School. She worked at the Root Beer Stand in Calmar during her school years. Faye married Don Brandt on September 24, 1961 in Calmar. Together they had four children. Along with raising her four children, Faye worked at Wapsi Produce doing seasonal work for many years. She enjoyed doing crossword puzzles, crocheting, and reading. Faye was a fifty-year member of the Order of Eastern Star. She is survived by her husband Don. Children: Richard (Lisa) Brandt, Colorado Springs, CO; Russell (Deb) Brandt, Omaha, NE; Scott Brandt, Park Falls, WI and Stacey (Tim) Brandt-Basler, Parker, CO. Grandchildren: Justin and Andrew Brandt; Maria Petkash and Ryker Basler. Great grandchildren: Carter and Arianna Brandt. Brothers: Robert (Rosie) Eppens, Decorah, IA and Richard Eppens, Calmar, IA. Sister-in-law: Donna Geinzer. Brother-in-law: Willard (Sandy) Brandt, Ridgeway, IA along with many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents: Robert and Florence (Lawrence) Eppens. Sister: Edna Mae (Charles) Ohlert. Father and mother-in-law: Harry and Norma (Borseth) Brandt. Brother-in-law: Frank Geinzer.
