Evelyn Boyer

Evelyn Boyer, age 81, of St. Lucas, Iowa, died on Sunday, August 30, 2009, at the Good Samaritan Home in West Union, Iowa. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, September 2, 2009, at St. Luke’s Catholic Church in St. Lucas, Iowa, with Rev. David Beckman presiding. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Friends may call from 5:00-8:00 p.m. on Tuesday and on Wednesday morning from 8:00-10:00 a.m. at the Historical Chapel of St. Luke’s Catholic School in St. Lucas, Iowa. There will be a rosary at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Evelyn Rose (Krivachek) Boyer was born on January 26, 1928, the daughter of John and Elizabeth (Markovetz) Krivachek near Ossian, Iowa. Evelyn moved with her family to Fort Atkinson, where she attended St. John’s Catholic School and then graduated from Fort Atkinson High School in 1946. She then worked for Bucheit Produce. Evelyn married Raymond Boyer on October 11, 1948, at St. John’s Catholic Church in Fort Atkinson. Together they operated the Meat Market in St. Lucas and assembled parts for DECO. Evelyn enjoyed gardening, crocheting, embroidering, quilting and playing bingo. Above all, she loved her children and grandchildren. Evelyn was a member of St. Luke’s Catholic Church and Rosary Society. Evelyn is survived by her two sons: Jerome (Lya) Boyer, Calmar, IA and Rodney (Brenda) Boyer, St. Lucas, IA. One daughter: Carol (Robert) Trevino, Spillville, Iowa. Seven grandchildren: Tracey (Steve) Tellez, Brian Rausch, Josh (Molly) Boyer, Sara Boyer- Erickson, Brayton Boyer, Ben Weiss and Melissa Weiss. Eighteen great grandchildren: Alexia, Katherine, Zach and Paige Tellez; Lily Rausch; Anna, Ella, Ava & Era Boyer; Kasey Erickson; Emmit, Jayden & Lucas Weiss; Clayton, Calista, Arianna & Domiauna Weiss. Two sisters-in-law: Cyrilla and Ida Krivachek, both of Fort Atkinson, IA. Evelyn was preceded in death by her parents: John and Elizabeth (Markovetz) Krivachek. Her husband: Raymond on March 21, 2001. One grandson in infancy: A.J. Boyer. Two brothers: Edward and Johnny Krivachek.
