Elton Bradley

Elton Raymond Bradley was born March 29, 1923, in Decorah, Iowa, the son of Howard Andrew Bradley and Ruth Herwig Bradley. He graduated from Decorah High School with the class of 1940 and attended Luther College in Decorah for one year. He then went to work with his father who owned Bradley Auto Sales and later became his partner. He continued the business in partnership with his son J.B. until his retirement in 1999. Elton was a member of First Lutheran Church, the Elks, the Oddfellows, and both the Silvercrest and Oneota Golf and Country Clubs. Elton was united in marriage with Kathreen B. Gunderson on April 2, 1944, at the Ossian Lutheran Church. To this union, three children were born: Kathryn (Kay), Janice, and James (J.B.) Elton died on Friday, May 24, 2019, at Fulton, Maryland. He was 96 years old. Elton was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Katy; his son, J.B.; a brother, Dean; a sister, Jean; a son-in-law, Almen Larson; and his granddaughter, Heidi Larson Strien. Elton is survived by two children: Kay (David) Lee of Columbia, MD; Janice Larson of Kansas City, MO; a daughter-in-law, Mary (J.B.) Bradley of Decorah, Iowa; six grandchildren: Philip Lee, Matthew Lee, Kathreen Lee Greeley, Andrew Larson, Amy Maschka, and Justin Bradley; nine great-grandchildren: Tyler Lee, Caitlyn Lee, Izabel Greeley, Anna Strien, Kaiser Strien, Isaac Strien, Madeline Maschka, Maeson Maschka, and Layla Jefferson. A memorial service will be held at Columbia, Maryland. Private Family Graveside service will be held at Hillside Cemetery in Ossian, Iowa.
