Elaine Wurzer

Elaine Wurzer, age 77, of St. Lucas, Iowa passed away on December 11, 2018, at Winneshiek Medical Center in Decorah, IA. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:30 a.m., Tuesday, December 18, 2018 at St. Luke’s Catholic Church in St. Lucas, IA with Father Aaron Junge presiding. Burial will be in St. Luke’s Catholic Cemetery. Visitation will be from 3:00-7:00 p.m., on Monday, December 17, 2018 at St. Luke’s Catholic Church in St. Lucas, IA. There will be a scripture service starting at 3:00 p.m. There will also be visitation on Tuesday morning from 9:30 -10:30 a.m. at the church. Elaine, the daughter of John and Loretta (Schmitt) Korzendorfer, was born March 28, 1941, in New Hampton, Iowa. She graduated from Waucoma High School in 1959. On November 25, 1961, she was united in marriage to Kenneth Wurzer at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Waucoma, Iowa. They farmed together near St. Lucas all of their married life. Survivors include her husband: Kenneth. Children: Brian (Fiance'e Shelly) Wurzer of Fredericksburg, Keri Wirtz of Waterloo, Kris (Mike) Van Sickle of West Union and Chad Wurzer, Saint Lucas. Grandchildren: Josh, Kyle, Austin, Montana (Fiance' Ben), Jared, Wyatt, Kadin, Lewis and Jack. Great Grandchild: Skylar. Brother: Jerry (Pat) Korzendorfer, Fort Atkinson. Sister: Judy (Tom) Canfield, Ames. Brother and sister-in-law: Emma McGrath, Atascedro, CA, Adrian Wurzer, Marion, TX, Betty Wurzer, Lawler, Elaine (Maurice) Collins, Decorah, Edward (Norma) Wurzer, West Union and numerous nieces and nephews. Elaine was preceded in death by her son Steve (1990). Parents: John and Loretta (Schmitt) Korzendorfer. Mother and father- in-law: Edward and Elizabeth Wurzer. Brother and sisters-in-law: Carl and Theresa Kuehner, Florian and Pat Wurzer, Greg and Helene Wurzer, Edgar Wurzer, Shirley Wurzer, Faith Wurzer, Laverne and Toni Kipp, Clem and Barb Wurzer, and Jim and Jeannie Cole.
