Edward “Ed” Youngblood, age 60 of Decorah, IA, died on Thursday, May 14, 2020 at his home in Freeport outside of Decorah. There will be a graveside service with full military rites on Tuesday, May 19, 2020 at 1:00 p.m. in the Freeport Cemetery. Rev. Al Hanson will be presiding. Memorials may be sent in memory of Ed to his daughter Michelle Youngblood: 707 Berg Blvd. SE, Stewartville, MN 55976 Edward Norice Youngblood was born on November 11, 1959 the son of Norice and Donna (Olson) Youngblood in Decorah, IA. Ed graduated from Decorah High School. Following high school, Ed enlisted in the United States Army where he was proud to have served for thirty-one years achieving the rank of Sergeant 1st Class. Ed’s passion was hunting and fishing with his friends and family. He also loved hosting fish fries and spending time with family and friends. Ed is survived by his daughters: Michelle Youngblood, Stewartville, MN and Tiffany Bohlen, Rochester, MN. Special friend: Jane Hall, Canton, MN. Two grandchildren. Father: Norice Youngblood, Decorah, IA. Sisters: Susan (Wayne) Carlson, Dubuque, IA; Luann (Ross) Moen, Cresco, IA; Mary (Dick) Church, Cedar Rapids, IA; Becky (Brad) Cavett, Williamsburg, IA; Christine (Bruce) Bohr, Ossian, IA and Patty Youngblood, Cedar Rapids, IA. Brothers: Tom (Becky) Youngblood, Chetek, WI; Harold (Dawn) Youngblood, Marshalltown, IA and John Youngblood, Decorah, IA along with many nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews. Ed was preceded in death by his mother: Donna Mae (Olson) Youngblood. His grandparents and many aunts and uncles.
