Edith Gruhn Clesi

Edith Clesi age, 83 of Decorah, Iowa, died Saturday, May 14, 2005, at the Oneota Riverview Care Facility, Decorah, Iowa. Graveside Services will be held 11:00 a.m. Saturday May 21, 2005 at the Postville Cemetery by Pastor David Lenth. Schluter Balik Funeral Home in Decorah in charge of arrangements. Edith Gruhn Clesi was born on May 22, 1921 the daughter of Fredrick and Elsa (Shara) Gruhn in Danzing, Germany. Edith attended country school in Luana and graduated from Postville High School in 1938. She then went to the Chicago School of Nursing, and served in the US Army during World War II as a nurse. She returned to the United States and worked for a hospital in Queens, NY and then moved back to Iowa, working in Good Samaritan in Postville, Ossian Senior Hospice and the Harmony Nursing Home. Did Edith have any hobbies?? Or memberships?? Edith is survived by one brother: Paul Gruhn & wife Lillian, of Cedar Rapids, IA and many nieces and nephews. Edith was preceded in death by her parents; one brother: Robert Gruhn. Four sisters: Martha Csillag, Anna Hartman, Gretchen Buddenberg and Lottie Keen.
