Dorothy Stoen

Dorothy Stoen, age 71, of Decorah, IA, passed away on Saturday, July 9, 2022, at Winneshiek Medical Center. There are no services planned at this time. Dorothy (Thorson) Stoen was born on June 30, 1951, the daughter of Severt and Blanch (Lucas) Thorson in Cresco, IA. She attended Cresco area schools. Dorothy married David Stoen on January 20, 1972, in Cresco. Together Dorothy and David had three children: David James, Dawn, and Dustin. Dorothy’s life was her family. She always made sure everyone was taken care of. One of her favorite things to do was spoil her beloved grandchildren. Dorothy also enjoyed fishing trips with her husband David. Dorothy is survived by her husband, David Stoen, Decorah, IA. Children: David James Stoen and Dawn Richards both of Decorah. Grandchildren: Heidi Buxengaard, Holden Stoen, Lauren Stoen, Adrien Stoen, Jack Stoen, David Allen Stoen II, Jacob Kraus, Michael Blackburn, Noah Blackburn, and Faith Richards. Great-grandchildren: Gracelyn Stoen, David Allen Stoen III, Oliver Kraus, and Ivy Kraus. Sister: Norma Denny, Guthrie Center, IA. She was preceded in death by her son, Dustin Stoen (July 15, 2001). Parents: Severt and Blanch (Lucas) Thorson. Sisters: Betty Craft and Carrie McIntiyer. Brothers: Robert Thorson and David Thorson. Brother-in-law: Jim Denny. Sister-in-law: Lorraine Thorson. Father and Mother-in-law: Sophus and Palma Stoen.
