Dorothy Poshusta, age 69, of Ridgeway, IA, died Saturday, July 24, 2010, suddenly at her home. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11:00 a.m., on Tuesday, July 27, 2010, at St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church in Spillville, IA, with Father Donald Hawes presiding. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Visitation will be on Monday, July 26 from 4:00 – 8:00 p.m. at the Schluter-Balik Funeral Home, French Chapel in Calmar, IA. There will be a rosary at 5:00 p.m. and a scripture service at 7:00 p.m. There will also be visitation after 10:00 at the church on Tuesday. Memorials given in memory of Dorothy, may be sent to Michael Poshusta, 1520 Main St., Ridgeway, IA 52165. Dorothy Francis (Flaherty) Poshusta was born April 18, 1941, to John and Mildred (Nibaur) Flahertyon the family farm near Lourdes. She graduated in 1959, from Cresco High School. On June 15, 1985, Dorothy married Mike Poshusta at the Orleans Lutheran Church north of Ridgeway. Together they ran The Cozy Corner in Ridgeway from 1985 – 2000. She also worked at Wellington Place for 15 years Dorothy enjoyed polka music, cooking and baking. She also enjoyed interior decorating and her dogs Casey and Sadie, but most of all she enjoyed spending time with her family. Dorothy was a member of St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church in Spillville, IA. Dorothy is survived by her husband: Mike Poshusta, Ridgeway, IA. One daughter: Julie (Ron) Langreck, Cresco, IA. Two sons: Dean Kuhn, Cresco, IA, and Steve (Steph) Kuhn, Cresco, IA. Two step-daughters: Tami (Sam) Tippy, Avon, OH, and Traci (Marvin) Schmitt, Waucoma, IA. One step-son Todd (Kim) Poshusta, Shakopee, MN. Fourteen grandchildren: Ashley Kuhn, Tiffany (Josh) Yearout, Kylie Kuhn, Danielle (Cody) Courtney, Trent Kuhn, Derek Kuhn, Kelsey Langreck, Kaleb Langreck, Lilli Tippy, Jack Tippy, Sydney Poshusta, Carson Poshusta, Simon Schmitt, Oliver Schmitt. Two Great Grandchildren: Brinley Courtney, and Eva Yearout. Two sisters: Lorraine (Ed) Polansky, Spillville, IA, and Cathy (Ron) Hageman, Calmar, IA Two brothers: Tom (Kay) Flaherty, Lourdes, IA, and Bob (Janet) Flaherty, Lourdes, IA. Two sisters-in-law: Althea (James) Murphy, Calmar, IA, and Sally (Robert) Davis, Theodore, AL. Two brothers-in-law: Randy (Lois) Poshusta, Calmar, IA, and Steve (Nancy) Poshusta, Calmar, IA. Dorothy was preceded in death by her parents: John and Mildred Flaherty.
