Dorothy June Halverson

Dorothy June Halverson, age 73, of Decorah, IA, died on Sunday, April 10, 2011, at the Barthell Eastern Star Home in Decorah, IA. Memorial services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Thursday, April 14, 2011, at the Decorah Lutheran Church, with Rev. Wayne Hagen and Rev. Bryan Robertson presiding. Burial will be in the Lutheran Cemetery. Friends may call after 9:00 a.m., at the church on Thursday morning. The Schluter – Balik Funeral Home in Decorah is charge of arrangements. Dorothy’s survivors include her two children: Eric (Cheli) Halverson, Barcelona, Spain and Kathy E. (Jeff) Ellingson, Decorah, IA. Four grandchildren: Erik Halverson, Ben Ellingson, Lars and Tyler Ellingson. Two brothers-in-law: Ed (Anna Mae Baker) Koehn, Mount Vernon, IA and Gordon Halverson, Ankeny, IA. One sister-in-law: Peggy Whitley, Wadena, MN. Dorothy was preceded in death by her parents: Arthur and Helen (Hughes) Whitley. Her husband: Vernett “Bud” Halverson on April 28, 1996. One sister: Donna Koehn and one brother: James Whitley. Two sisters-in-law: Mary Halverson and Pat (Joe) Wacker.
