Donald J. Gerleman, age 80, of Decorah, Iowa, died on Friday, October 20, 2006, at the Oneota Riverview Care Facility in Decorah, Iowa, following a lingering illness. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m., Tuesday, October 24, 2006 at St. Benedict’s Catholic Church, Decorah, Iowa with Rev. Gary Krapfl officiating. Burial will be in St. Francis DeSales Catholic Cemetery, Ossian, Iowa. Friends may call from 4:00-7:00 p.m. on Monday and on Tuesday until 10:00 a.m. at the Schluter – Balik Funeral Home, in Decorah. Survivors: Special Friend, Ivanelle Henning. Ten children: Kathryn Ann, Michael, Linda, Julie, Myles, Mark, Bonnie, Carol, Stephen, David, grandchildren and great grandchildren. Two sisters: Jean Ann (Donald) Meyer, Bellevue, MI and Geraldine (Alex) Konrad, Durham, NH. One brother: Gillis (Sharon) Gerleman, Milwaukee, WI.
