Donald Frana

Donald Frana, age 76, formerly of Spillville, Iowa died on Sunday, October 9, 2005 at the Guttenberg Municipal Hospital in Guttenberg, Iowa. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday, October 12, 2005 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church in Spillville, Iowa with Msgr. Cletus Hawes officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Friends may call on Tuesday from 5:00 until 7:00p.m. with a rosary at 6:00, at the Balik Funeral Home in Spillville, Iowa and after 10:00 a.m. at the church on Wednesday morning. Donald J. Frana was born on November 19, 1928 the son of Frank and Regina (Shindelar) Frana on the family farm near Decorah, Iowa. Donald attended St. Wenceslaus Catholic School and Madison Country School. Donald helped on the family farm and spent many years in nursing homes the last three years in Guttenberg. Donald enjoyed fishing, hunting and trapping and listening to sports on the radio, especially boxing. Donald was a member of St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church and the Catholic Workmen. Donald’s survivors include his two sisters: Delores Lynch, Decorah, IA and Vivian (James) Rongner, Spooner WI. Four brothers: Dennis (Darlene) Frana, Decorah, IA; Dale (Gloria) Frana Decorah, IA; David (Marie) Frana, Decorah, IA and Virgil Frana Nixa, MO and many nieces and nephews. Donald was preceded in death by his father, Frank in 1979 and his mother, Regina in 1994; one brother: Francis in 1975 and his sister: Diana Frana in 1990. A brother-in-law Thomas Lynch in 2003
