Diane Folkedahl, age 77, of Decorah, Iowa, passed away on Monday, June 22, 2026, at Accura Health Care in Cresco, Iowa.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, July 3, 2026, at Helms Funeral Home, 306 E Water Street, Decorah, Iowa with Pastor Randy Kittelson presiding. Burial will be in Union Prairie Cemetery.

Visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service at the funeral home on Friday morning.

Diane "Lynne" Folkedahl was born June 8, 1949 in Decorah, Iowa. She was the daughter of Norton M. and Irene (Severide) Folkedahl. She was baptized July 17, 1949 by Rev. Sunde and confirmed September 27, 1964 by Rev. Schlactenhaufen. Being a lifelong member of Decorah Lutheran Church, she sang in the Junior Choir, taught fifth grade Sunday School and was a member of the bulletin board committee. Lynne graduated from Thomas Roberts High School on May 23, 1967.

Our heavenly father called Lynne away on June 22, 2026. At that time she was residing at Accura Nursing Home in Cresco, Iowa.

Lynne was very artistic and creative. She enjoyed family get-togethers, playing cards and board games, decorating for the holidays, gardening, attending Nordic Fest, listening to music, reading, and solving puzzles. She will be fondly remembered as being kind and generous and having a big heart. She will be greatly missed.

She was preceded in death by her parents Norton and Irene; brothers Dale, Dennis and Nels Folkedahl; sisters Arla Kubik and Lois Lembake; nephews Rusty Folkedahl and Terry Kubik; nieces Shawn Gossman and Paula Means; great-niece Rikki McCabe and Jennifer Gossman.

She is survived by one brother Vincent (Bev) Folkedahl and two sisters Sharon Folkedahl and Colleen (Lloyd) Gossman and many nieces and nephews, great-nieces and nephews and great-great-nieces and nephews.
