Delores “Dee” Everson, age 83, of Decorah, IA, died on Sunday, March 24, 2013, at the Northgate Care Center in Waukon, Iowa, following a short illness. Memorial services will be held at 10:30 a.m., Tuesday, April 2, 2013, at St. Benedict Catholic Church, 307 West Main Street, Decorah, Iowa, with Rev. Phillip Gibbs presiding. It was Delores’ wish to donate her body to the University of Iowa Hospitals in Iowa City. Dee was born March 1, 1930 the only child of Edward & Mary Abraham in Chicago Illinois. On November 3, 1955 Dee married to Merlyn Allen "Corky" Everson in Granton Wisconsin. Dee was actively involved with St. Benedict's Catholic Church and the community. She worked as a nurse at the Winneshiek Memorial Hospital then moved on to touch the lives of the students at North Winneshiek School as their school nurse for 20 years. After her retirement she volunteered at the hospital, one of the nursing homes, and St. Benedict's school. She was also active in a bridge club and a bowling league. But her favorite hobby was reading. Dee is survived by their three children: J Ellingson and her husband Gregory, Mountain Home, AR; Jo Lane and her husband Richard, San Diego, CA; Jon Everson, Decorah, IA. Four grandchildren: Keisha Lane, Sydney Lunardi, Keinin Lane and Weston Everson.
