David Phillips

David Phillips, age 80 of Decorah, IA passed away on Thursday, April 22, 2021 at Winneshiek Medical Center in Decorah. A celebration of life will be held from 1:00 – 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, May 1, 2021 at the Schluter-Balik Funeral Home, 604 South Ave in Decorah. David Curtis Phillips was born on February 26, 1941 the son of Erma (Phillips) Swatek. David married Cynthia Jirak on April 11, 1965. He enjoyed spending time with kids, loved his cats, fishing and hunting. The family would like to give a special thanks to the staff at Winneshiek Medical Center and Winneshiek County Hospice for the fantastic care that he received. He is survived by his wife: Cynthia (Jirak) Phillips, Decorah, IA. Brothers: Roger (Marsha) Phillips, Raymond (Patti) Swatek, Jimmy (Pam) Swatek, Danny Jo (Connie) Swatek. Sister: Cindy (Jim) Swatek Blue. Brother-in-law: Steven (Cheryl) Jirak. Sisters-in-law: Rita Hollenbeck and Leathia Siewert along with many nieces, nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by his mother: Erma (Phillips) Swatek. Brothers: Duane and Bobby in infancy, Larry Phillips and Dale Phillips.
