David Goettelman

David Goettelman, age 59, of Decorah, Iowa, died on Friday, November 16, 2007, at the Winneshiek Medical Center, following a short illness. Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday at the Schluter – Balik Funeral Home in Decorah, Iowa, with Rev. Carol Kress officiating from the First United Methodist Church in Decorah. Burial will be in the Phelps Cemetery, Decorah, IA. Friends may call on Tuesday after 12:30 p.m. at the funeral home. Memorials may be given to Winneshiek County Hospice, 901 Montgomery Street, Decorah, IA, 52101 or to the donor's choice of charity in memory of David. David’s survivors include his brother: Donald (Jean) Goettelman, Norwood Young America, MN. One niece: Kelly Edlund. Two nephews: Brian (Karen) Goettelman and Mark Goettelman. Seven great nieces and nephews: Jennifer, Nolan and Connor Goettelman; Jacob and Cody Edlund; Michael and Dawn Ronning. One great great nephew: Caden Vance. Three Aunts & Uncles: Virgil & Rosie Goettelman, Decorah, IA; Jane Severide, Cedar Rapids, IA and Frieda Goettelman, Decorah, IA and many cousins. David was preceded in death by his parents: Vera in 1983 and Floyd in 1998. His wife, Cathy in 1984. One sister: Lynn White in 1979
