David "Dave" Hansen

Dave Hansen age 46, of Decorah, IA, died on Friday, August 31, 2018 at Gundersen Health Systems in LaCrosse, WI from injuries he sustained from an assault. He was surrounded by family at the time of his passing.A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Friday, September 7, 2018 at the Burr Oak Lutheran Church 2358 360th Street, Burr Oak, IA, with Rev. Matt Larson presiding. Burial will be at a later date in the Burr Oak Cemetery.Visitation will be after 9:30 a.m., at the church on Friday morning. In Lieu of flowers a memorial account has been set up at Farmers and Merchants Savings Bank located inside of Wal Mart in Decorah.David Michael Hansen was born on May 27, 1972 the son of Elmer Hansen and Sue (Coorough) Pierce in Prairie Du Chien, WI. He attended North Winneshiek School and graduated in 1991. David married Jennifer (Hofer) Conger in 1995 and together they had three children: Anthony, Lucinda and Thomas. In 1997, David and his family moved to Georgia. He was employed by Daryl Hovden Construction of Cumming GA, where he found his career of concrete pumping. After many years David returned to Iowa and worked several different places. He was employed by Kelly Concrete of Waukon at the time of his passing. David enjoyed spending time with his children, dirt track racing, being outdoors and singing in his basement. His greatest passion was his job, he was a workaholic. David is survived by his parents: Elmer (Rose) Hansen, Burr Oak, IA and Sue (Lindsey) Pierce of MN. His children: Anthony, Lucinda “Lucy” and Thomas “Tommy” all of Decorah, IA. Stepdaughter: Samantha Hofer, Dawsonville, GA. Siblings: Allen (Nichole) Hansen, Greenly, IA; Angie Murphy of MN; Peter Hansen, Trempealeau, WI and Brittany Hansen, Decorah, IA. Step-grandchildren: Chandler and Kylie Jo, Dawsonville, GA. David was preceded in death by two uncles: Ron Hansen and Ron English. Grandparents: Marjorie (Elwood) Dutka and Ray (June) Coorough. Three nieces and a nephew: Abigail Ziel, Tyler, Megan and Haylee Hansen (Children of Allen and Nichole Hansen).
