David Darling

David Darling, age 56, of Burr Oak, Iowa, died on Wednesday, July 25, 2007, at the Winneshiek Medical Center in Decorah, Iowa, of complications from diabetes for fifty years. Memorial services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Monday, July 30, 2007, at the Schluter – Balik Funeral Home, in Decorah, Iowa, with Rev. David Andreae officiating from the Big Canoe Lutheran Church, Decorah, Iowa. Burial will be in the Bluffton Community Cemetery, Bluffton, Iowa. Friends may call after 1:00 p.m. on Monday afternoon at the funeral home. David’s survivors include his wife, Sue Darling, Burr Oak, IA. Three sons: Michael (Sherry) Darling, Decorah, IA; Matthew (fiancé Heather McIntyre) Darling, Lino Lake, MN and Monty (Samantha) Darling, Burr Oak, IA. Four grandchildren: Noelle Olson, Nashia Darling, Ashley Darling and Nathaniel Darling. One brother: Ralph (Nancy) Darling, Blaine, MN. Two sisters-in-law: Judy Askelson, Minneapolis, MN and Carol Maki, Madison, SD. One brother-in-law: Lyle (Wanda) Askelson, Decorah, IA. Several Aunts, Uncles, nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews. David was preceded in death by his parents: James Darling in April 1990 and Marjorie Darling in Sept. 2002; Two brothers: Gerald Darling in 1956 and Ronald Darling in 1997.
