Dale Ringoen

Dale Ringoen, age 53, of rural Cresco, IA, died Saturday, February 19, 2011, at his home after a long illness. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at11:00 a.m., Thursday, February 24, 2011, at the St. Bridget’s Catholic Church, Bluffton, IA, with Father Dennis Cahill presiding. Burial will be in St. Bridget’s Catholic Cemetery, Bluffton, IA. Friends may call from 4:00 – 8:00 p.m., Wednesday, February 23, 2011, at the Schluter-Balik Funeral Home in Decorah and after 10:00 a.m., at the church on Thursday morning. Memorials may be given in memory of Dale to the Dale Ringoen Memorial Fund. Dale Richard Ringoen was born on September 9, 1957, the son of Robert and Joyce (Baker) Ringoen in Cresco, IA. Dale attended and graduated from Crestwood High School in Cresco, IA, in 1975 and then farmed at home. He married Debra Drew on March 24, 1984, at St. Benedict’s Catholic Church in Decorah, IA, and they were blessed with two daughters, Stacy and Brittany. For a short time, Dale worked for Cresco Building Service in Cresco. He then worked at CamCar in Decorah, from August of 1987, until his health forced him to quit last year. Dale enjoyed collecting all kinds of John Deere tractors and equipment, as well as helping his neighbors on their farms when needed. He was a member of St. Bridget’s Catholic Church and served on the cemetery board. Dale is survived by his wife: Debra Ringoen, Cresco, IA. Two daughters: Stacy Ringoen, Iowa City, IA and Brittany Ringoen, Marion, IA. Three sisters: Ronda (Jarry) Hughes, Lime Springs, IA; Julie (Ordel) Stinson, Cresco, IA; and Lori (Dean) Lepa, Cresco, IA. One brother: Gene (Donna) Ringoen, Ridgeway, IA. One aunt: Jean (Roger) Williams, Chicago, IL. His mother-in-law: Betty Drew, Decorah, IA. Two sisters-in-law: Kathy (Tom) Hill, Cresco, IA and Denise Darling, Lansboro, MN. Three brothers-in-law: Dave (Rachael) Drew, Birchwood Village, MN; Scott Drew, Marion, NC; and Greg (Barb) Drew, Manchester, IA; along with many nieces, nephews, and great nieces and nephews. Dale was preceded in death by his father: Robert Ringoen in 1977 and his mother: Joyce (Baker) Ringoen in 2000. His father-in-law: Richard Drew in 1964. One sister: Leann Ringoen in infancy in 1956.
