Dale Raymond Bodensteiner

Dale Raymond Bodensteiner, age, 64, of St. Lucas, Iowa passed away on March 25, 2019 at the Good Samaritan Society in West Union, IA. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:30 a.m., Saturday, March 30, 2019 at St. Luke’s Catholic Church in St. Lucas, IA with Rev. Aaron Junge presiding. Burial will be in St. Luke’s Catholic Cemetery. Visitation will be from 3:00-7:00 p.m., on Friday, March 29, 2019 at St. Luke’s Catholic Church in St. Lucas, IA and also after 9:30 a.m. at the Church on Saturday morning.  Dale Raymond Bodensteiner was born on August 13, 1954 to Irvin and Melita (Steinlage) Bodensteiner in West Union, IA. He graduated from Fredericksburg High School in 1973. After high school, he helped on the family farm. He then worked at Goodwill in Stanley, IA. Later he worked at Spectrum in Decorah. Dale moved to Decorah to live at Opportunity Homes and began working as a custodian for various businesses in town. Dale was always happy to spend the weekends in St. Lucas with his mother and keep up with his Church community. His hobbies included listening to music and working with his toy tractors. Dale is survived by his mother: Melita Bodensteiner. Seven siblings: Diane (Mark) Schmitt, Ft. Atkinson, IA; Gary (Rita) Bodensteiner, Clarksville, TN; Melvin (Janet) Bodensteiner, West Union, IA; Betty (Jim Kortz) Gilchrist, St. Paul, MN; Daniel (Cindy) Bodensteiner, Albert Lea, MN; Susan (Bob) Cerwinske, Lake City, MN and Joseph (Sandra) Bodensteiner, Eagon, MN. Fourteen nieces and nephews and twenty-nine great-nieces and nephews. Dale was preceded in death by his father: Irvin in 1993. Sister: Mary (in infancy). Brother-in-law: Lee Gilchrist in 2004.
