Cyril "Cy" Corrigan

     Cyril “Cy” Corrigan, age 87, of Decorah, IA, died on Wednesday, November 5, 2014, at the Aase Haugen Nursing Home in Decorah, IA.      Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m., on Monday, November 10, 2014, at St. Benedict Catholic Church, 307 West Main Street, Decorah, IA, with Rev. Phillip Gibbs presiding. Burial will be in St. Benedict Catholic Cemetery, Decorah, IA.      Friends may call from 2:00-5:00 p.m., on Sunday, November 9, 2014, at the Schluter - Balik Funeral Home, 604 South Avenue, Decorah, IA,  and after 9:30 a.m., at the church on Monday morning. The Schluter – Balik Funeral Home in Decorah is handling arrangements.     Cy is survived by his wife of sixty-one years, Jean Corrigan, Decorah, IA. Five brothers: Gerald Corrigan, Dubuque, IA; John (Lois) Corrigan, Robert (Peg) Corrigan, Rich (Elaine) Corrigan, all of Cedar Rapids, IA, and Pat Corrigan, Decorah, IA. Sisters-law: Fern Corrigan, Cedar Rapids, IA; Dee Corrigan, Cedar Rapids, IA; Jean Mathis, Waukon, IA; Lorraine Bangs, Marshalltown, IA; and Helen Mathis, Waukon, IA, along with several nieces, nephews, friends and neighbors.      Cy was preceded in death by his parents: James and Rose (McCormick) Corrigan. Cy’s three premature children. Five brothers: Charles (Eleanor) Corrigan, Wayne Corrigan, Jim “Doc” Corrigan, Mark Corrigan, and Mike (Laverle) Corrigan. Sisters and brothers-in-law: Annie Corrigan, LaVonne Corrigan, Vince Mathis, and William “Bill” Mathis, along with some nieces and nephews.
