Cora Hendrickson

Cora Hendrickson 93 of Decorah died Wednesday November, 1 2006 at the Aase Haugen Home in Decorah after a long illness. Funeral Services will be on Saturday November 4, 2006 at 11:00 a.m. at the First Lutheran Church in Decorah by Rev. Rick Engebretson with burial in the Lutheran Cemetery in Decorah Visitation will be on Friday from 4:00 – 8:00 at the Schluter – Balik Funeral Home in Decorah and after 10:00 at the church on Saturday Cora Idella (Berg) Hendrickson was born on January 5, 1913, the daughter of Carl and Ida (Kirkeby) Berg in Glenwood Township, rural Decorah, Iowa. Cora attended country school in Glenwood Township and married Olaf Hendrickson on March 26, 1939 at Pontoppidan Lutheran Church. Cora worked at the DeLuxe Hotel and at Luther College. She enjoyed visiting with friends and playing cards. Cora was a member of the First Lutheran Church. Cora is survived by her son, John (Kathy) Hendrickson, San Juan, Puerto Rico. Four grandchildren: Steven Fall, Shannon (Craig) Nickerson, Brian (Andrea) Hendrickson and Erik Hendrickson. Three great grandchildren: Ashlee, Joshua and Taylor. Cora was preceded in death by her parents, her husband: Olaf in 1998; one daughter: Delores (Howard) Fall in February 2006. Two brothers: Joe and Bennie Berg.
