Constance "Connie" Glock

     Constance “Connie” Glock, age 91, of Calmar, IA, died on Friday, January 29, 2016, at the Evans Memorial Home in Cresco, IA.      Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Thursday, February 4, 2016, at Calmar Lutheran Church, 200 East Street, Calmar, IA, with Rev. Jesse DeDeyne presiding. Burial will be held at the Calmar City Cemetery, Calmar, IA.    Friends may call from 3:00-7:00 p.m., on Wednesday, February 3, 2016, at the Schluter – Balik Funeral Home, French Chapel, 202 South Washington Street, Calmar, IA, and also after 10:00 a.m., at the church on Thursday morning.      Constance Arlene McLane Glock was born on June 29, 1924, the daughter of Earl Philip and Laura Josephine (Foss) McLane in Calmar, IA. She was baptized and confirmed at the Calmar Lutheran Church. Connie attended and graduated from Calmar High School. She worked for thirteen years at the Northwestern Bell Telephone Company in Calmar. Connie was united in marriage to Erwin Glock on September 3, 1950, at the Trinity Lutheran Church in Calmar. They were the parents of Dana, Kim, Jan, Kerry and Chris. After Erv opened his plumbing shop, Connie helped with the bookwork, from 1955 to 2007. Connie enjoyed going to the River, camping and going to garage sales. Connie was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Calmar.      Connie is survived by her husband Erwin Glock, Calmar, IA. Five children; Dana Glock, South Mills, NC; Kim (Mary) Glock, Decorah, IA; Jan (Helen) Glock, Fayetteville, NC; Kerry (Shelly) Glock, Calmar, IA; and Chris (Cindy) Glock, Fountain, CO. Nine grandchildren: Ryan Emlund, Jessica (Aaron) Berger, Jan “Shawn” (Nicole) Glock, Kandace (Lane Breitsprecher) Glock, Duncan Glock, Sean Glock, Seth Steinlage, Erick Steinlage and Ethan Glock. Two great grandchildren: Wyatt Berger and Adryanna “Addy” Breitsprecher. One sister-in-law: Rosalie (Herman) Rast, Sumner, IA, along with several nieces and nephews.      Connie was preceded in death by her parents: Earl Philip and Laura Josephine (Foss) McLane. Her granddaughter: Jennifer Glock. Her father-in-law and mother-in-law: George and Lena (Balbach) Glock. Brother-in-law: Harold Glock. Sister-in-law: Pauline (Harry) Harris.
