Clara Webb

Clara Webb, age 91, of Decorah IA, passed away peacefully on Sunday, May 16, 2021 at Wellington Place Assisted Living in Decorah, surrounded by her family. A private family graveside service will be held at St. Benedict Cemetery in Decorah with Rev. Donald Hertges presiding. Memorials may be sent to Clara's family at: 3009 Pleasant View Rd., Decorah, IA 52101 Clara Ann (Rogen) Webb was born on July 11, 1929 the daughter of Albert and Helga (Teslow) Rogen in Decorah, IA. She graduated from Decorah High School in 1946. After graduating, Clara worked for Northwestern Bell Telephone Company. Clara married Bernard Webb on November 4, 1948 and together they had four children: Mike, Linda, Mark and Lisa. They were married for sixty-two years before Bernard’s passing in 2011. Clara supported Bernard’s business “Webb Construction” for many years as the bookkeeper. She also kept books for St. Benedict Cemetery in Decorah for thirty-three years. She was on the planning committee for the class of 1946 reunions for many years as well as being a lifetime member of the VFW Auxiliary. Clara loved playing cards, especially euchre. She was 100% Norwegian and taught several family members how to make Lefse and Krumkake. It was a family tradition to have Clara’s Lefse at Thanksgiving and Christmas. Clara and Bernard enjoyed their time at “the river” in Harpers Ferry for many years fishing and hosting family gatherings. She was a faithful wife and a great mother. Many thanks to the staff at Wellington Place Assisted Living and Winneshiek Medical Center Hospice for their excellent care of our mother. Clara is survived by her children: Linda (Robert) Haeussinger, Rochester, MN; Mark (Jane) Webb, Decorah, IA and Lisa (Greg) Glisczinski, Neillsville, WI. Daughter-in-law: Cindy (Mark) Webb-Ballard. Grandchildren: Nikki (Mark) Williamson, Shawn (Phil) Headington, Katie (Chad) Refsland, Bryan (Amanda) Webb, Kristina (Chad) Nelson, David (Kali) Glisczinski, T.J. (Katie) Webb, Patrick (Julia) Glisczinski, Cody (Jodi) Webb and Brad Glisczinski. Thirteen great-grandchildren, six step great-grandchildren and one great great- grandchild. She was preceded in death by her husband Bernard Webb in 2011. Son: Michael Webb in 2003. Parents: Albert and Helga (Teslow) Rogen. Brother: Hank (Audrey) Rogen.
