Carolyn Johnson

Carolyn F. Johnson, 101, who lived her first 98 years in Rockford, Ill, died August 22, 2019, at Decorah.  She moved to Wellington Place where, for two and a half years, she enjoyed being close to family and found a new collection of friends among residents and staff. Decorah survivors are daughter Sunny (and Dale) Nimrod; grandchildren Andrew and Cristy, Jacob and Carrie.  Great-grandchildren Gavin, Tori, Collin, Kaitlyn, Clarence and Leonard, all Nimrods. In Germany are grandson Adam (Nicole), Abigail and Reily Nimrod. Funeral service is August 31, 11:00 a.m. at Salem Lutheran Church in Rockford with burial at Scandinavian Cemetery where Carolyn’s father, A. Elmer Carlsten was longtime sexton.
