Carolla Vick Miyoshi, age 95, of Decorah, Iowa, died on Tuesday, July 7, 2009, at the Aase Haugen Nursing Home in Decorah, Iowa. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m., on Friday, July 10, 2009, at the Aase Haugen Nursing Home in Decorah, with Rev. Gary K. Lee, Chaplain from Aase Haugen Nursing Home, presiding. Burial will be in the Lutheran Cemetery, Decorah, Iowa. Friends may call after 9:00 a.m. on Friday, July 10, 2009, at the Aase Haugen Nursing Home in Decorah. The Schluter – Balik Funeral Home in Decorah is in charge of arrangements. Carolla’s survivors include her brother: Alvin Vick, Decorah, IA. Four nephews: Donald (Norma) Halse, Decorah, IA; John “Jack” (Sue) Boehm, Decorah, IA; Duane (Carolyn) Vick, Charles City, IA; Harrison Brown, Austin, MN. Six nieces: Lois (Ray) Ambrose, Jacksonville, FL; Charilyn (Ed) Hover, Decorah, IA; Carol (Dean) Ashmore, Fennimore, WI and Linda (Charlie) Lott, Waterloo, IA; Dorothy Brooks, Decorah, IA and Harriet (Les) Leidahl, Decorah, IA. Carolla was preceded in death by her parents: Erick and Henrietta Vick. Her husband: Donald Miyoshi in 1996. Three sisters: Alice Boehm, Charlotte Hexom and Ileen Gilday. Four brothers: Conrad, Allard, Elmer and Harry Vick.
