C. Ingeman Teslow, age 88, of Decorah, Iowa, died Tuesday, December 12, 2006 at Crestridge Nursing Home in Maquoketa, IA following a long illness. Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Saturday, December 16, 2006 at Glenwood Lutheran Church in rural Decorah by Rev. Douglas L. Mathison. Burial will be in Glenwood East Cemetery in rural Decorah. Friends may call from 4:00-7:00 P.M. Friday, December 15, 2006 at Fjelstul Funeral Home in Decorah and on Saturday after 10 A.M. at the church. Carl Ingeman Teslow was born August 21, 1918, on the home farm in Glenwood Township, Winneshiek County, Iowa, the son of Edwin and Clara Antoinette (Hersrud) Teslow. He was baptized on September 29, 1918 by Rev. S.A. Scarvie and confirmed on May 14, 1933 by Rev. Bredesen at Glenwood Lutheran Church. Ingeman was educated at the Rocksvold Country School, Glenwood Township No. 4, completing 8th grade on May 21, 1932. He was united in marriage to Gerda A.J. Ehrie on June 21, 1939 at the Glenwood Lutheran Church parsonage. This union was blessed with five children: Elaine, Judy, Gene, Giles and Dawn. Ingeman and Gerda lived in Winneshiek and Allamakee counties, then bought a Glenwood Township farm in 1951. Ingeman worked as an equipment operator for the Winneshiek County Road Maintenance Department for 38 years, retiring on August 1, 1983. He was an active member of Glenwood Lutheran Church, including brotherhood and serving on the church council. He enjoyed pitching horseshoes and won many awards, including the 1978 World Tournament in his class in Des Moines. Ingeman enjoyed traveling and loved to dance, play cards and work in his garden. He became a resident of Crestridge Nursing Home in Maquoketa, Iowa on July 10, 2006. He died at the Nursing Home on Tuesday, December 12, 2006 at the age of 88 years. Survivors include his five children; Elaine (Ken) Meyer of Fairfax, IA, Judy (Dean) Sersland of Dubois, WY, Gene (Roselyn) Teslow of Decorah, IA, Giles (Jill) Teslow of Decorah, IA, Dawn (Scott) Bearson of Lanesboro, MN; thirteen grandchildren, Pam (Dan) Pruett of Longmont, CO, David Meyer of Hiawatha, IA, Jon Meyer of Loveland, CO, Alicia (Davin) Helden of Berthoud, CO, Valerie (Brian) Dewald of Casper, WY, Dustin (Beki) Sersland of Cody, WY, Hilary Teslow of St. Louis Park, MN, Jergen Teslow of Decorah, John Teslow of Decorah, Juel Teslow of Decorah, Jillian Teslow of Decorah, Amanda Bearson of Lanesboro, MN and Johanna Bearson of Lanesboro, MN; five great grandchildren, Willie and Emma Pruett, Greta Pruett, and Hunter and Braeden Sersland; three sisters-in-law, Evangeline Teslow of Waukon, IA, Theresa Teslow of Frankville, IA, and Viola Teslow of Decorah; one brother-in-law, Orin (Helen) Ehrie of Decorah. Ingeman was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Gerda on November 22, 2000; seven brothers, Oliver, Alfred, Carlton, Henry, Lester, Francis and Raymond Teslow; five sisters, Helen Teslow, Clarice Teslow, Clarice Hanson, Doris Teslow, and an infant sister.
