     Bonnie Kruse, age 74, of St. Lucas, IA, died on Tuesday, July 8, 2014, at the Ossian Senior Hospice in Ossian, IA.       Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m., Friday, July 11, 2014, at St. Luke’s Catholic Church in St. Lucas, IA, with Rev. Nick March presiding. Burial will be in the church cemetery.      Friends may call after 9:30 a.m., Friday morning at St. Luke’s Catholic Church in St. Lucas, IA. The Schluter Balik Funeral Home in Decorah is handling arrangements.       Bonnie (Bauers) Kruse was born on May 26, 1940, the daughter of Harold and Myrel (Brandes) Bauers near Moscow, MN. Bonnie attended school in Austin, MN. Bonnie married Kenneth Kruse on September 20, 1969 in Minnesota. They lived in St. Lucas and operated the Washland Convenience Store in St. Lucas for many years. Bonnie enjoyed going out to eat, watching TV. She was a member of St. Luke’s Catholic Church, St. Luke’s Choir and the Rosary Society. She entered the Ossian Senior Hospice on Oct. 1, 2002.      Bonnie is survived by her sister: Betty Bales, Rochester, MN. One brother-in-law: Anthony Kruse and wife Agnes, Fort Atkinson, IA. Nephews: Lenny Bales, Rochester, MN, and Gerald Kruse, Fredericksburg, IA. One great nephew: Robert Kruse. One great niece: Destany Kruse.      Bonnie was preceded in death by her husband: Kenneth Kruse on July 1, 1996. Her father: Harold Bauers on Oct. 11, 1990, and her mother: Myrel Bauers on July 2, 2013. Her father-in-law: Albert Kruse on July 1, 1979 and her mother-in-law: Albina Kruse on Nov. 27, 2002. Brother: Richard Bauers. Brother-in-law: Alvin Kruse on July 1, 2011.
