Bjorn H. Norderhaug age 21, of Chanhassen, MN, died Sunday, September 18, 2016 in Decorah, IA. Memorial Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, September 24, 2016 at the Center for Faith and Life (CFL) on the Luther College campus in Decorah with Rev. Mike Blair officiating. There will be time for visitation before the service, beginning at 10:00 a.m. in the CFL lobby. Bjorn Halmen Norderhaug was born on June 8, 1995 in Brookfield, Wisconsin, the son of Michael and Linda (Liv) Norderhaug. Bjorn was a graduate of Brookfield Academy, Brookfield, WI with the class of 2013. Bjorn was active in the junior sailing program of the Milwaukee Yacht Club and played tennis for Brookfield Academy, placing 6th in singles at the Wisconsin State High School Tournament as a junior. He was a computer science major entering his senior year at Luther College in Decorah, IA, a place that allowed Bjorn to blossom and flourish as person. He was on the Luther tennis team his freshman year. Bjorn was proud of his Norwegian heritage and was active in the Norskklubb at Luther. Bjorn was a tech intern with the Minnesota Twins. Bjorn loved working for the Twins and they provided him much support and encouragement towards his career development. Bjorn is survived by his parents, Michael and Liv Norderhaug of Chanhassen, MN; and his sister, Kirsten Norderhaug of Chicago, IL. The family would like memorials directed to support the Nordic Studies Department at Luther College, c/o Development Office, 700 College Drive, Decorah, IA 52101.
