Beatrice "Bea" Glass Tinderholt

     Beatrice “Bea” Glass Tinderholt, age 88, of Fort Atkinson, IA, died on Thursday, August 21, 2014, at Wellington Place Nursing Home in Decorah, IA.      Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m., Tuesday, August 26, 2014, at St. John’s Catholic Church, in Fort Atkinson, IA, with Rev. Nick March presiding. Burial will be in the church cemetery.    Friends may call from 3:00-7:00 p.m., on Monday, August 25, 2014, and also after 9:00 a.m., on Tuesday morning at the Schluter – Balik Funeral Home, Chekal Chapel, 201 Main Street, Fort Atkinson, IA.  There will be a rosary at 4:00 p.m. and a scripture service at 6:00 p.m. on Monday evening.     Beatrice “Bea” Otilia (Krivacek) Glass Tinderholt was born on December 21, 1925 the daughter of William F. and Otilia (Martinek) Krivacek in Fort Atkinson, Iowa. Bea attended St. John’s Catholic School and Fort Atkinson High School. She worked as a clerk at Huber’s Store and as a bookkeeper for Croatt Implement in Fort Atkinson. Bea attended college at Iowa State in Ames for bookkeeping. Bea married Paul R. Glass on June 27, 1949 at St. John’s Catholic Church in Fort Atkinson. Bea also worked in the laundry department at Aase Haugen Nursing Home for several years, retiring in 1987. Bea married Albert Tinderholt on May 6, 1994 at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Waukon, Iowa. She was a member of St. John’s Catholic Church, the Ladies Guild and the National Catholic Society of Foresters. Bea enjoyed knitting, crocheting, sewing and feeding and watching the birds, and above all, spending time with her grandchildren.      Bea is survived by her five children: Richard (Brenda) Glass Oelwein, IA; Patti (Walt) Bielefeld, Decorah, IA; Connie (Jim) McKone, Fort Atkinson, IA; Jackie (Ivan) Lensing, Fort Atkinson, IA; and Robert Glass, Fort Atkinson, IA. Ten grandchildren: Dawn (Doug) Schwebke, Casey (Jessica) McKone, Madison McKone, Daniel (fiancé Ashley Gaines) Lensing, Heather (fiancé Tyler Jepsen) Lensing, Hannah Lensing, Samantha Glass, Jaimie Lea Glass, Alexandria Glass and Zackary Glass. Two great grandchildren: Marcus (Sarah) Scigliano and Angel Jarnigen. Two great great grandchildren: Lizzamarie & Aiden Scigliano. Three sisters: Margaret (Serenus) Elsbernd, Fort Atkinson, IA; Corina (Ronnie) Scholbrock, Hazel Green, WI; and Alice (Marvin) Phillips, Fort Atkinson, IA. Sister-in-law: Vi Krivacek, Fort Atkinson, IA, as well as several nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews.      Bea was preceded in death by her parents: William and Otilia (Martinek) Krivacek. Her first husband: Paul Glass on Jan. 8, 1990. Her second husband: Albert Tinderholt on Jan. 10, 2007. Two brothers: Art (Christine) Krivachek and Sonny Krivacek. One nephew: Gary Krivachek.
