Barbara Winter

Barbara Winter, age 90, of Decorah, IA, died on Monday, July 27, 2020, at her home outside of Decorah. There will be no formal services for Barbara. Memorials may be sent to her daughter; Ellen Sexton at 2412 365th St, Decorah, IA 52101 Barbara Ann (Falck) Winter was born on April 8, 1930 the daughter of Charles and Stella (Hovey) Falck on the family farm north of Decorah, IA. She graduated from Decorah High School in 1948. On August 5, 1948 she married Earl Winter in Harmony, MN. Earl and Barbara farmed together for over fifty years in Winneshiek County. They had two daughters: Catherine and Ellen. She enjoyed sewing, quilting, doing crafts and working on the farm. Barbara was a member of Burr Oak Lutheran Church. Barbara is survived by two daughters: Catherine (Jim) McLain, Decorah, IA and Ellen (Steve) Sexton, Decorah, IA. Eight grandchildren: Michelle (Aaron) Kruse, Decorah, IA; Jaime (Mindy) McLain, Circle Pines, MN; Vanessa McLain, Fairview, OK; Alison (Tim) Flack, Waukon, IA; Megan Hageman, West Union, IA; Shane Sexton, Stacia Sexton and Steven Sexton, Decorah, IA. Eight great grandchildren: April and William Kruse; Ashton, Wyatt and Brystol Burr; Jameson and Kaelynn McLain; Jesse Flack. She was preceded in death by her husband Earl. Parents: Charles and Stella (Hovey) Falck. Brother: Charles Falck Jr. Sisters: Sally (Allen) Sampson, Judy Doyle, Elsie (Archie) McIntosh, Frances Falck and Harriet (Kenneth) Roed. Father and mother-in-law: William and Minnie (McMullen) Winter.
