Barbara D. Olson

Barbara D. Olson, age 81 of Decorah, Iowa, died on Saturday, September 2, 2006 at Oneota Riverview Care Facility in Decorah. Barbara Dean (Hudson) Olson was born August 23, 1925 in Newton, Iowa, the daughter of Bill and Ola Hudson. She graduated from Newton High School. She was united in marriage with Arnold C. Olson on December 10, 1960 in Unionville, Missouri. Arnold and Barbara lived in Lincoln, NE, for 30 years and Barbara worked at Sears as a bookkeeper. After retirement, the couple relocated to Decorah in 1992. She became a resident of Oneota Riverview Care Facility in Decorah on September 8, 2004. Barbara died Saturday, September 2, 2006 at the care facility following an extended illness at the age of 81 years. She was preceded in death by her parents; her daughter, Geraldine Olson Hutton in 1982 and a sister, Aline Farrell. She is survived by her husband, Arnold Olson; her six children: John (Isu) Olson of Bremerton, WA, Terry (Sharyl) Olson of Decorah, Penelope (Marion) Chandler of Columbia, SC, Sanford Olson of Columbia, SC, Barbara Jo (Robert) Dyer of Southern Pines, NC, and Forrest (Jane) Hummel Jr. of Colorado Springs, CO; 11 grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren.
