Ava Marie Witt

Ava Marie Witt was born into this world on February 23rd and passed on shortly after birth due to complications during delivery. She weighed 4 pounds, 7 ounces and was 16 inches long. An intimate memorial service with immediate family was held on Saturday, March 5, 2005 at 3:30 p.m. at the home of Brenda and Jim McCaffrey in Decorah. Service was performed by Pastor Bryan Robertson, who also baptized Ava at Winneshiek Medical Center. Arrangements were done by Fjelstul Funeral Home in Decorah. She is a guardian angel for us all and will be forever loved and missed in our thoughts and hearts. Ava's survivors include: her parents Fawn Benson and Craig Witt and one brother, August Ryan, of Decorah; maternal grandparents Brenda and Jim McCaffrey of Decorah; maternal grandfather David Benson of Fayette; paternal grandparents Don and Kathie Witt of Houston, TX; maternal great grandmother Ione Benson of Postville; Uncle Shanon Benson and "Auntie" Morgan Tobin and cousin Kamran Tobin-Benson, Decorah; Uncle Conor McCaffrey and "Auntie" Esther Palmieri, Decorah; Uncle Jeff Witt and "Auntie" 'Helene Bied, Santa Cruz, CA; a huge family, extended family and too many beloved friends to mention. She was preceded in death by paternal grandmother Marie Witt; maternal great grandparents Vernon and Marcella Lee of Calmar; maternal great grandfather Harlan Benson of Postville.
