Anne Gilbertson, age 72, of Decorah, Iowa, passed away on Saturday, March 21, 2026, at her home.

Burial will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, September 19, 2026, at St. Benedict Catholic Cemetery, 2394 Siewers Spring Rd, Decorah, IA 52101.

Anne (Annie) Marie Gilbertson was born on November 12, 1953, in Decorah, lowa. She passed on March 21, 2026, in Decorah. She attended grade school at St. Benedict's Catholic School in Decorah and graduated from Decorah High School

Annie was raised on the farm during her childhood and school years. As an adult, she lived in Decorah. Annie was fond of animals. Over the years, she had several horses, numerous dogs, and two pet roosters named Stan and Stu. Annie was a plant lover, too. Her yard was a virtual jungle of all kinds of ornamental plants and trees. One of her numerous jobs over the years was working in a greenhouse.

Annie worked at many Decorah businesses, including Rockwell Collins, Stanley, Black and Decker, and Walmart. She was a very good cook and seamstress and had a strong work ethic Annie had a remarkable singing voice and sung at weddings and in bars with several bands. She had perfect penmanship.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Orin (Snowball) Gilbertson and Vera (Knox Gilbertson, and one older brother, Karl, of Cedar Falls, lowa. Annie is survived by one brother, John, of New Mexico.
