Anna Janechek

April 21, 1926 — July 9, 2008

Anna Margaret Janechek, age 82, of Conover, IA died Wednesday, July 9, 2008, at the Aase Haugen Home, Decorah, IA after a long illness. Mass of Christian Burial will be on Saturday July 12, 2008 at 11:00 a.m. at the St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church in Spillville with burial in the church cemetery. Rev. Donald Hawes will be officiating. Friends may call on Friday, July 11, 2008 from 3:00 to 7:00 at the Balik Funeral Home in Spillville, Iowa and after 10:00 at the church on Saturday. There will be a rosary at 4:00 and a scripture service at 5:00 on Friday. Anna was the daughter of Joseph and Frances (Bengfort) Wieling near Festina, IA. She married Donald Wenceslaus Janechek on October 30, 1946 at St. Aloysius Catholic Church in Calmer, IA. The couple farmed the family farm in Conover. Anna enjoyed cooking, gardening, reading and especially her family. Anna is survived by seven children; Sharyn Janechek of Decorah, IA, Robert Janechek of Conover, IA, Steven (Linda) Janechek of Decorah, IA, Lonnie (Ann) Janechek of Independence, IA, Richard (Denise) Janechek of Cresco, IA, Gary (Karen) Janechek of Cedar Rapids, IA, and Sharla Janechek of Decorah, IA. Also surviving are nine grandchildren; Donald, Brian, Michelle and DeAnn of Cresco, Lisa and Michael of Independence, and Alex, Zachary and Mitchell of Cedar Rapids. In addition, she is survived by brother-in-law, Hugo Hackman of Ft. Atkinson, sister-in-law, Magdalen Wieling of New Hampton, and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband: Donald in 1985 her parents, five sisters: Hilda (Leo) Hlubek, Irene (Bernard) Menne, Agnes (Ed) Winter, Mildred Hackman and Alma (Joe) Schoufenbuel. two brothers: Gus (Mayme) Wieling and Ralph Wieling. brother-in-law: Linus (Lillian) Janechek.
