Alvin Frana

Alvin Frana, age 76, of Calmar, died February 24, 2009, at home after a sudden illness. Mass of Christian Burial will be Saturday, February 28, 2009, at 11:00 a.m. at St. Aloysius Catholic Church in Calmar by Rev. Donald Hawes. Burial will be in the St. Wenceslaus Cemetery in Spillville, Iowa. Visitation will be on Friday from 3:00 – 7:00 at the Balik Funeral Home in Spillville with a rosary at 4:00 and scripture service at 6:00 there will also be visitation after 10:00 at the church on Saturday. Alvin’s survivors include his eight sisters: Lorraine (Tom) Lockhart, Adel, IA; Leona Whalen, Cresco, IA; Marian Nobles, Bloomfield, NM; Joanne Frana, Cedar Rapids, IA; Madonna Haddy, Cedar Rapids, IA; Arlene (Jack) Brazier, Cedar Rapids, IA; Doretta Frana, Madison, WI and Susan (John) Durham, Calmar, IA. One brother: Wesley Frana, Decorah, IA. Thirty nieces and nephews, fifty-seven great nieces and nephews and twenty-four great great nieces and nephews.
