Alois Seifert age, 93 of rural Spillville died Tuesday June 21, 2011 at the Aase Haugen Home in Decorah. Mass of Christian Burial will be on Thursday, June 23, 2011 at 3:00 P.M. at the St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church in Spillville, with Rev. Donald Hawes presiding. burial will be in the church cemetery. Visitation will be after 2:00 p.m. at the church on Thursday. Balik Funeral home is in charge of arrangements. Alois Seifert was the Second-born twin on February 28, 1918, the son of Joseph and Lucy (Snyder) Seifert on the family farm near Conover, Iowa. Alois attended Winneshiek County Country School and St. Wenceslaus Catholic School. He farmed the family farm along with his four brothers and parents for many years. They picked corn by hand for many years. Alois enjoyed visiting with people and listening to polka music. He entered the Aase Haugen Nursing Home on January 1, 2004. Alois survivors include cousins. Alois was preceded in death by his parents: Joseph November 13, 1955 and Lucy January 3, 1989 Seifert. Four brothers: his twin George June 9, 2008, Alven March 4, 1972, Edward June 21, 1985 and Walter January 30, 1993 Seifert.
